Enough

I love roller coasters. My favorites have lots of spirals and loops, and you've got to love the slow ascent to the highest drop. Then having to hold your stomach in as you make that drop. Fabulous!

Today, though, I'd like to get off this ride I seem to be stuck on. Took Wendy II to the vet for deworming medicine yesterday. Ended up leaving her there because she was running a fever. Today, she's gone. Seems there was an outbreak of distemper at the pound, and our two were the ones that alerted the authorities to it.

Emma doesn't know yet, and frankly, has seemed very detached about the fact that she spent the night at the vet's last night. Perhaps she already knows in her heart.

Earlier this week, I thought I had experienced one of the hardest tasks a parent should ever have to do. I was wrong. Doing it a second time is much harder.

Are you kidding me?? I can't believe it!! That is just beyond cruel, beyond difficult.

Oh I'm so sorry Meg. I hope Emma can eventually find a kitten to love!!

Big hugs to all of you.

Oh my. Perhaps you should find another vet and try adopting a cat from them instead of the pound (not sure I would want to go back to the pound where this seems to have started). I know our vet always has the cutest kittens up for adoption. I feel so sorry for Emma. Goodness knows what she is really feeling and thinking about all this. I just hope she doesn't think it is her fault (we know it isn't, but you know the things kids can get in their minds). Give her a big hug for me.

I'm so sorry to hear this. How awful for all of you.

It seems like somebody official should make a visit to that pound. Selling diseased animals is not good for the animals, and could be bad for the people who take them home (physically as well as emotionally).

OMG, Meg. That is so awful! Poor Em! How is she doing? How are YOU doing???

Is there another local pound? I wouldn't go back to the same one for sure!

What about a Petsmart? They adopt kitties there.

Best of luck!

Oh, I'm so sorry this has happened to you and your family. My hubby said that at least those little kittens was able to be loved before the died. Maybe God knew they weren't here for long and needed a good family to love them. (He usually isn't this insightful or sensitive so I was really shocked when he said this. )
