One would think...

...as a soldier's wife, I would be adept at saying good-bye. Especially when the destination doesn't involve warfare! But, see, I inherited the ability to cry just by thinking a sad thought. While this was very useful on the stage, it's a little obnoxious now that I'm supposedly an adult! Luckily, Emma seems to take after her daddy, she very strongly misses people, but actually saying good-bye doesn't seem to bother her. The two of them had a High Five contest this morning at school and she went in laughing.

Me, not so much. Oh well. Please don't judge the attached scrapbook page too harshly, it was made years ago when I was attempting the whole paper scrapbook thing. I quickly discovered I can't cut a straight line, and HATED cutting up photos. This is one of maybe six pages I ever completed. But I have tears in my eyes in most of three of those photos, and not much has changed in that department.

Saying good-bye sucks.

Yep, it does suck. And it never seems to get easier--or I've found that the older I get, the harder it gets. Great post!

He'll be back before you know it.
Use this time to pick up McDonald's, hog the remote, and spread out over the whole bed.

I like your old layout. It shows some great emotions.

Hugs to you my friend.

Here's more hugs! (it's easier for me to do this on the internet then in person!) Emma sounds like she has a fantastic personality and probably draws her strength from you even though she may display it like her dad. You are such a wonderful mom!

Lots of hugs to you and your family Meg.
Emma sounds liek she is a pistol! Like Bethy said, she gets a lot of that from you too.

Your LO is great. Not classically great but emotionally great. that is not a cut towards your LO, but I hope you know what I mean. And where are the fancy victorian scallop edged scissors???!!!

(hope I made you smile a bit today)

At least the goodbyes are over now and you can look forward to his return... The time will probably go in a SNAP you'll be so busy with your kids. Hang in there!

Look at it this way...you don't *have* to shave if you don't want to. :) I swear, when I was away from my husband for the first time in December, that little thought actually cheered me up.

I am not that bad at saying goodbye, and I'm not a huge crier at partings. I hate though, the missing people part, it just tears me up... lol
